What you need to know before your experience at ZipZone
What is the Adventure Park?
It is a playground in the trees! Our self-guided aerial adventure park provides hours of thrills and challenges for all ages and abilities. Options range from a kid’s course on the ground, through our mid-level trails, all the way to expert level black diamond challenges. We provide all your gear and teach you how to use it, then you set the pace. Tackle as many obstacles as you want! The adventure park is a series of platforms in the trees connected by ladders, bridges, ropes, ziplines and obstacles of every kind, all situated in a beautiful forest on the edge of the city. Activities offered are appropriate for ages 5 to 100. The trails are color coded purple through black to reflect difficulty level. Age restrictions are shown below.
What is a zip line tour?
Our zip line tours (the Canopy Tour and Zip Rush Tour) are fully guided tours utilizing zip lines to travel from tree to tree.
What is the difference between the Zip Line Tours and the Adventure Park?
The Canopy and Zip Rush Tours are fully guided tours where two guides accompany you and your group throughout the tour. Guides work all the gear including clipping participants into safety lifelines and operating braking systems on the line. The Adventure Park is a self-guided park where our staff will teach you to use the Smart Safe Belay system to clip into the course and make your way through the obstacles. The Adventure Park is going to be a higher physical challenge than the Zip Line Tours.
Are there age restrictions?
Our Adventure Park offers activities for ages 4 and up. Ages 4-11 must be supervised by an adult at all times.
For the sake of safety, there are restrictions for going on the tour. For the Canopy and Zip Rush tours, riders must be a minimum of 7 years old and weigh 50 lbs. The maximum allowable weight on the tour is 270 lbs.
What are the weight restrictions?
All guests must weigh less than 270 lbs. In order to participate in the Canopy or Zip Rush Tours riders must be a minimum 50 lbs. and can weigh no more than 270 lbs. Every guest will be weighed at the tour, so this weight is with your clothes and shoes on! This restriction is put in place based on the speed of the zip line, not the amount the cables can hold. On the zip line tours, we are able to accommodate riders as light as 50 lbs. utilizing our tandem zip line system on certain lines (typically 1 or 2 of the longer lines, the other zips the rider can go on their own).
Are there health restrictions?
You should be prepared for some light physical activity like climbing stairs, crossing bridges, walking short distances over uneven terrain, and lifting up to 10 lbs.
What are all of the restrictions?
- Weight restrictions: no more than 270 lbs. (and at least 50 lbs for the Canopy Tour and Zip Rush Only
- The minimum age is 7 years old for the Zip Line Tours and Adventure Park and 4-7 years old for the Kids Park
- Zip line tour guests should be prepared for some light physical activity. Zip line tours include climbing stairs, crossing bridges and walking short distance over uneven terrain.
- Adventure Park guests should be ready for moderate to high physical activity. The Adventure Park program consists of bridges, cable walkways, climbs, zips and many elements involving balance.
- Activities are not recommended for anyone who may have a heart condition, neck/back issues, or other medical concerns which would limit participation.
- Cannot be pregnant.
- We reserve the right to refuse participation to anyone we see consuming alcohol or illegal drugs on the property prior to participation or anyone who is impaired in any way.
Anyone with the following conditions should consult a physician to determine whether or not it is appropriate to participate in a zip line tour:

- Debilitating fear of heights
If you are pregnant, you will not be allowed to ride the zip lines.
No smoking, alcohol, or drug use is permitted at any time prior to or throughout the experience.
We are committed to making our tour as accessible as possible to our participants. While there are certain restrictions that have been put in place to protect the public, we are often able to accommodate individuals outside of these parameters with advanced notice and approval by the tour manager.
ZipZone is not obligated to complete a visit if participants are found to be endangering the safety of themselves, others, or the environment. Refunds will not be given in these situations.
I have a reservation and it is raining, or calling for rain, what do I do?
We love Ohio, but depending on the day we may or may not love the weather. Ohio weather is very hard to predict, so we tend to make the call as close to the reservation time as possible. We do run tours in light rain, and based on that we compare zipping to golf. If people would keep golfing in the weather, we will keep zipping. So, if there is extreme weather like storms, high winds or heavy rain we will cancel the visit, but in light to moderate rain we will still run the visit. Dress for the weather, and if you need it, we do have ponchos at the office.
Do kids need to be supervised?
On the Adventure Park, kids ages 4-11 need to be supervised by an adult. The supervising adult can be on the ground or on the course with the kids. Some trails do require an adult to accompany kids of a certain age.
On the zip line tour an adult must be on the property for all minors 15 years old or younger, for the duration of the program. For any minor 12 and under an adult must accompany children on the zip line tour. Please call if you have questions.
Do I need to make a reservation?
Yes. All guests need to make a reservation. Make a reservation here. We will try to accommodate walk-ins based on availability, but it is always easier to reserve a spot online before arriving at the office.
What if I don’t have a credit card to book online?
If you do not have a credit card, or would like to pay with a check, please call our reservation line and they will arrange for payment.
Do I need to sign a waiver?
Yes, all guests who wish to zip line must sign a waiver. Guests under the age of 18 will need a guardian’s signature before zipping or climbing. We prefer the waivers be signed ahead of time by clicking on the link to your customer terminal in your confirmation email. Or you can Click here to sign our waiver.
What if I am afraid of heights?
Don’t worry! Most people say zip lining is not as scary as they thought it would be! Our canopy tour is designed to progress from shorter slower lines to longer, faster, higher lines to keep you comfortable. Our certified guides are professionally trained to keep you safe throughout the tour. Each piece of equipment, as well as the tour is inspected daily to ensure it is all in proper working order. We embrace the “Challenge by Choice” philosophy, so you can be sure you will not be forced to do anything you don’t want to do.
Is it safe?
The park was built following the leading standards in the industry developed by the Association of Challenge Course Technology (ACCT). All guides have been trained by Get a Grip Adventures, LLC to meet or exceed ACCT standards. We do everything we can to make this the best experience possible! Did we mention the cables are tested to hold 26,000 lbs.?
ZipZone is a founding member of the Ohio Zip Line Association (OZLA), a group working together with the Ohio State Department of Agriculture, Amusement Ride Safety Division as state regulations are developed for zip lining. One of our owners, Lori Pingle, is the President of the Board of the OZLA and is on the Zip Line/Canopy Tour committee for the ACCT. We are working hard to stay at the forefront of standards and regulations in our industry.

Tipping is entirely up to you. Our guides appreciate tips, and if you feel you received exceptional service, feel free to tip your guides. While you can make a reservation on your own, we do need at least 3 people to book on any tour in order to run the tour. If you are booking by yourself, or as 2 people, try to make a reservation for a tour time where others have already booked to ensure your tour will run as scheduled.
