With the warm weather approaching, we’re getting excited to get outside and have fun with our friends and family. And that got us thinking. There are so many things to do and places to explore in Columbus, and we want to share them with all of you! So we put together a Central Ohio bucket list filled with activities in the Columbus area that you just can’t miss out on. Here’s the list:
ZipZone Canopy Tours
We might be a little biased, but you just haven’t seen Columbus until you’ve seen it from up high. Imagine hands-free flying like an eagle over treetops, ravines and streams, all while guided by professionally trained guides who know and love the natural landscape. That’s what you get when you visit ZipZone for a day.
ZipZone has several great zip line tours to choose from, including the Full Moon tours that let you zip through the treetops at night. And for those seeking a bit of a thrill, ZipZone’s QUICKjump free fall will make your heart race with excitement.
Columbus Metro Parks
Columbus has a whopping 21 different trails and parks to enjoy, including a nice golf course. Have you ever seen a bison herd? You can find one at Battelle Darby Creek, and spring is a good time to see them!
The Slate Run Living Historical Farm is also a popular choice for many families. It shows what farm life was like in the 1880s. Costumed workers perform all the daily activities of a real farm, and the Percheron horses pulling hay wagons are magnificent.
Each park has something to different to offer, and they are all worth the trip. Do you have a favorite park? Perhaps it’s time to discover it!
Columbus Sports
You’re always in for a good time when out cheering on your favorite Columbus sports teams! Now that spring is here, it’s time for baseball, which means the return of the Columbus Clippers. Right now, the Clippers are the leading club in the International League West, so it’s shaping up to be a great season. If soccer is more your thing, it’s never a bad day to hang out at MAPFRE Stadium to support the Columbus Crew.
The Scioto Mile
Take a stroll, ride a bicycle, or check out the Rhythm on the River series — you can do it all on the Scioto Mile. This one-mile pathway connects 145 acres of beautiful parks, creating an urban oasis right in the heart of downtown. The Rhythm on the River performances feature something for everyone from blues to bluegrass music to ballet. These wonderful outdoor events are free.
Franklin Park Conservatory
The Franklin Park Conservatory combines art, culture and the botanical world for a truly memorable experience. Walking through the botanical gardens, you will find exotic plants and lush florals displays that just might take your breath away. You’ll also see a collection of Dale Chihuly’s glass artwork sprinkled throughout the conservatory. Plus, there are a number of family-friendly events and activities offered.
The team at ZipZone hopes these ideas help you make the most out of your spring and summer in Central Ohio. Don’t forget to check out the great events and tours offered by ZipZone and book a canopy tour today!
